The Col 211 is a bag intended for remote off trail travel over cols, basins and rugged canyons. It's also a fine bag for long trails like the JMT where resupplies are infrequent and bear canisters are mandated. The Col 211 is simple, light and rugged. It features oversized bottle holders with cinch top closure and compressions straps that have enough room for a Nalgene and whatever else you want to stuff in! These are bottle holders that you can actually reach back and pull a bottle out! The front pocket features a cinch closure and drain holes. This is a big deep pocket that allows a broad range of uses from stashing a wet tent, to throwing all the items you want fast access to while on the trail. Below the front pocket are attachment points that allow the user to quickly add 3/4 buckle compression straps to secure things like sleeping pads and ice axes. Vertical daisy chains offer user versatility for attaching ice axes, fly rods, trekking poles and many other items. Shoulder straps and hip belts are crafted with genuine English Evazote foam in 1/2 and 3/4 inch thickness. Twin 7075-t6 aluminum stays support the bag firmly on your hips. The Col 211 can be made to the volume of your choosing and the front pocket can be sewn to your desired depths. Fabric choices for this bag are restricted to Ultra Weave, Ultra Grid and Cordura to ensure that it can take the abuse of off trail travel. We recommend that this bag be constructed with a 41 inch circumference to allow for horizontal storage of bear canisters. We can discuss bag volume in terms of intended use at time of order.
