The Ionian Basin is one of the most remote corners of the High Sierra — a trail-less talus wilderness tucked between the Goddard, White, and Black Divides. Named for Greek mythology, it's the kind of place that doesn't show up on most people's radar. The JMT passes nearby, but almost no one turns off toward it.

The Ionian pack is built for that kind of travel. Stripped down, configurable, and tough enough for terrain where trails don't exist. Choose your fabrics, set up your build, and get into the country that most people walk right past.

Challenge Sailcloth Fabrics

Built with Challenge Sailcloth Ultra fabrics — engineered for durability, not just low weight. Choose your material for the main body and high-wear areas independently. Ultra 200 is the lightest option. Ultra 400 TX is heavier with nearly twice the abrasion resistance. Challenge Ultra Grid is a recycled nylon reinforced with a UHMWPE grid. How to Measure

Each pack is custom built to fit your body. You'll need two measurements:

Torso Length:

Tilt your head forward and find the bony bump where your neck meets your shoulders (C7 vertebra)
Place your hands on your hips with thumbs pointing back, and draw an imaginary line between your thumbs
Measure the distance from C7 down your spine to that line

Waist/Hipbelt:

Measure around your waist at your iliac crest (top of your hip bones)—this is where the hipbelt will sit
